Our History

Founded in 1989 by twin brothers Lee and Larry Lopez, Hardrock Concrete Placement began with humble roots in a converted family home in Peoria, Arizona. When Arizona’s construction market slowed in the early 1990s, the brothers expanded operations into California, taking on projects from San Diego to San Francisco.

By the mid-1990s, Hardrock opened a Tucson office and entered a period of rapid growth, expanding from a small local operation into one of the Southwest’s leading commercial concrete subcontractors. In 2000, the company built its Phoenix headquarters, a tilt-up concrete structure that symbolized its strength and progress.

When the economic downturn hit in the late 2000s, Hardrock adapted by expanding into New Mexico and Texas, completing major projects at White Sands Missile Range and Ft. Bliss. The company later added an office in Albuquerque while maintaining a strong presence in Arizona.

Today, Hardrock proudly serves Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Nevada, and California. From tilt-up buildings, to high-rises, to complex concrete structures, and beyond, our work is built on the same principles that shaped us from the start: hard work, teamwork, and performance you can trust. With industry-leading safety (0.49 EMR), $100M single-project bonding capacity, and a track record of zero project defaults, Hardrock continues to deliver with strength and reliability.
